Embark on a thrilling 2-day tour to explore a myriad of captivating destinations near Sandakan. This immersive itinerary includes visits to the Selingan Turtle Island, Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, Puu Jih Shih, St. Michael’s Church, Agnes Keith House, Central Market, and Sim-Sim Water Village. From encountering diverse wildlife to exploring historical and cultural landmarks, this tour offers a rich and varied experience showcasing the best of Sandakan’s natural and cultural heritage.
Day 1 – Upon your arrival at Sandakan Airport (flight TBA hrs) or from your hotel lobby in Sandakan Town (TBA hrs), you’ll be transferred to Crystal Quest Jetty. Take a scenic hour-long boat ride to Selingan Turtle Island. Upon arrival, settle into your chalet with basic facilities and enjoy lunch at the cafeteria. The afternoon is free for leisure activities like snorkeling and swimming (equipment available for rent). After dinner, await the ranger’s call to witness the fascinating turtle egg-laying and visit the hatchery. Overnight stay at Selingan Island Chalet.
Day 2 – Start your day with breakfast at 0630 hrs in the cafeteria. After breakfast at 0700 hrs, depart from Selingan Island back to the mainland. Proceed to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to witness the morning feeding of orphaned orangutans and watch an informative documentary at 1000 hrs.
Following Sepilok, visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Next, ascend to Puu Jih Shih, the hilltop Chinese Temple, for a panoramic view. Transfer to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, explore St. Michael’s Church and the observation pavilion, followed by a visit to Agnes Keith House. Continue to the vibrant Central Market and Sim-Sim Water Village, showcasing local culture. Finally, transfer to Sandakan Airport (TBA hrs) or your hotel in Sandakan.

No Red/Bright Clothing, No Jewellery, and Do not carry food into the reserve.
Hat, raincoat/umbrella, insect repellent, sunblock lotion, swimwear, drinking water, extra batteries for the camera, torchlight, sandal shoes, and casual wear are recommended.

- All reservations must be completed before the departure date.
- No refund is available for cancellation after the tour has commenced or in respect of any accommodation ground transportation or any other services.
- If you wish to cancel your booking once it has been confirmed, a cancellation charge of 50% of tour fees will be imposed.
- Accommodation: A 100% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of the total accommodation cost is required to confirm the reservation of all types of accommodation i.e. Chalet, Hotel, or Resort. A fee will be imposed if any amendment, cancellation, or number of persons or rooms reduced is made after the booking is confirmed.
- Changing the date is only available for those tour packages which don’t include a chalet, hotel, or resort on Island once the booking has been confirmed.
- If the number of travelers is an odd number, a single supplement (adult or children) with an additional 70% charge of the adult price is applicable.
- Child Policy:
- The child rate is 70% of the adult rate.
- The child is an individual aged 2 to 10 years old (Proof of birth certificate is required).
- The child rate is applicable when traveling with TWO (2) paying Adults.
- Important Details:
- Changing date is NOT available after the booking is confirmed for the accommodation on the island.
- In the event that ONE (1) Adult and ONE (1) Child will be considered as 2 Adults tour fare.
- Selingan Turtle Island accommodation is a Private Twin Sharing room with an attached Bathroom and Aircon.
- Accommodation at Selingan Turtle Island is a maximum of 2 adults and 1 child below or equal to 10 years old (1 extra bed) only in one room. No triple rooms.
- We highly recommend all tour members purchase accident, baggage, and general liability insurance to protect their travel plans.
- The organizer has the sole and absolute discretion to cancel or shorten the duration of any tour in the event of force majeure, hostilities, accident, or other circumstances beyond the control of the organizer which render it necessary in the organizer’s reasonable opinion that such steps be taken. The organizer shall be relieved from all liabilities and obligations resulting therefrom. The organizer assumes no responsibility or liability for any injury, damage, loss, or accident with any services resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, strikes, government regulations, theft, failure of any means, discrepancies, or changes of which it has no control.
