NATURE TOUR OF SABAH
Embark on an exhilarating 5-day journey through the diverse landscapes and heritage sites of Sabah. Commencing at the majestic Kinabalu National Park, delve into its lush flora and fauna, followed by a rejuvenating stop at the Poring Hot Spring. Explore the bustling Central Market and Sim-Sim Water Village, immersing in local culture. Visit Puu Jih Shih and the historic St. Michael’s Church, before stepping into Agnes Keith House, resonating with Sabah’s colonial past. The tour then takes you to witness the incredible conservation efforts at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Your adventure continues at the Kinabatangan River in Bilit or Sukau Village, where you’ll cruise through its wildlife-rich banks. Finally, venture into the depths of Gomantong Cave, ending this expedition through Sabah’s rich natural wonders and historical landmarks.
Day 1 – Embark between 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM from Kota Kinabalu Hotel for a 1 ½-hour journey to Kinabalu National Park. Discover the Mountain Garden, home to an exquisite collection of mountainous flora. Then, proceed to Poring Hot Spring post-lunch, where you’ll explore the Canopy Walkway, strolling amidst the lowland forest’s nature trails. Witness diverse wildlife and tropical rainforest wonders from the elevated canopy. Head to your Kundasang hotel for check-in, ending the day amidst this natural splendor.
Day 2 – Following breakfast at 8:00 AM, depart from Kundasang for a scenic 5-hour ride to Sandakan. After lunch at a local restaurant, dive into Sandakan’s vibrant life at the Central Market, a hub for fresh seafood and local produce. Explore the Sim-Sim Water Village, witnessing homes built above the water, and ascend to the Puu Jih Shih Chinese Temple for panoramic views. Visit St. Michael’s Church and Agnes Keith House before returning to Hotel Sandakan for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 3 – Start the day with breakfast at 8:15 – 8:30 AM, followed by a visit to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Observe the feeding of orphaned orangutans and watch informative documentaries. Continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Afterward, proceed on a 2-hour transfer to Sukau or Bilit, Kinabatangan. Check-in and relax at your accommodation before an afternoon river cruise at 4:00 PM. Encounter playful proboscis monkeys and diverse birdlife along the Kinabatangan River. Enjoy dinner and, weather permitting, a night walk before a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 4 – Early at 6:00 AM, embark on a morning river cruise for birdwatching and wildlife observation. Return to the lodge for breakfast and a potential jungle walk, contingent on weather conditions. Relish lunch at the lodge and partake in another exciting river cruise at 4:00 PM to uncover more wildlife. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay in Sukau or Bilit.
Day 5 – Following an 8:00 AM breakfast, journey from Sukau or Bilit to explore the renowned Gomantong Cave, a haven for nesting birds. Return to Sandakan and relish a local restaurant lunch. The tour culminates with drop-off at Sandakan Airport for flights or transfers to your Sandakan hotel, concluding this fascinating exploration.

Raincoat, hat/cap, insect repellent, sun lotion, drinking water, extra batteries for the camera, torchlight, leech socks (for jungle trekking), good walking shoes/sandals, and casual wear are recommended.

- All reservations must be completed before the departure date.
- No refund is available for cancellation after the tour has commenced or in respect of any accommodation ground transportation or any other services.
- If you wish to cancel your booking once it has been confirmed, a cancellation charge of 50% of tour fees will be imposed.
- Accommodation: A 100% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of the total accommodation cost is required to confirm the reservation of all types of accommodation i.e. Chalet, Hotel, or Resort. A fee will be imposed if any amendment, cancellation, or number of persons or rooms reduced is made after the booking is confirmed.
- Changing the date is only available for those tour packages which don’t include a chalet, hotel, or resort on Island once the booking has been confirmed.
- If the number of travelers is an odd number, a single supplement (adult or children) with an additional 70% charge of the adult price is applicable.
- Child Policy:
- The child rate is 70% of the adult rate.
- The child is an individual aged 2 to 10 years old (Proof of birth certificate is required).
- The child rate is applicable when traveling with TWO (2) paying Adults.
- We highly recommend all tour members purchase accident, baggage, and general liability insurance to protect their travel plans.
- The organizer has the sole and absolute discretion to cancel or shorten the duration of any tour in the event of force majeure, hostilities, accident, or other circumstances beyond the control of the organizer which render it necessary in the organizer’s reasonable opinion that such steps be taken. The organizer shall be relieved from all liabilities and obligations resulting therefrom. The organizer assumes no responsibility or liability for any injury, damage, loss, or accident with any services resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, strikes, government regulations, theft, failure of any means, discrepancies, or changes of which it has no control.
