Embark on an extensive 3-day expedition to explore the marvels surrounding Sandakan. This comprehensive tour encompasses visits to iconic sites including the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, delving into wildlife preservation efforts. Traverse the Kinabatangan River at Bilit or Sukau Village, witness the wonders of Gomantong Cave, and ascend Puu Jih Shih for panoramic vistas. Explore the historical St. Michael’s Church, Agnes Keith House, and immerse in the local culture at Central Market and Sim-Sim Water Village. This immersive journey offers a rich tapestry of wildlife, natural wonders, and cultural landmarks near Sandakan.
Day 1 – Commence your adventure with a meet and transfer service upon your arrival at Sandakan Airport (flight TBA hrs) or from your hotel lobby in Sandakan between 0815 – 0830 hrs. Embark on an overland transfer to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where you’ll witness the morning feeding of orphaned orangutans and watch an insightful documentary at 1000 hrs.
After Sepilok, continue your journey to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Following this, embark on a roughly 2-hour transfer to Sukau or Bilit, Kinabatangan. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation equipped with basic facilities and enjoy lunch. The afternoon at 1600 hrs brings an exciting boat cruise along the Kinabatangan River, providing opportunities to spot diverse wildlife like proboscis monkeys and various bird species. Return for dinner and, weather permitting, engage in a night walk. Overnight stay at Sukau or Bilit.
Day 2 – Start your day with an early 0600 hrs boat cruise for bird watching and wildlife spotting. Return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by a jungle walk (weather dependent). Enjoy lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, another 1600 hrs river cruise offers more chances to observe wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Sukau or Bilit, Kinabatangan.
Day 3 – Indulge in breakfast before departing from Sukau or Bilit for an overland transfer to the awe-inspiring Gomantong Cave, renowned as Sabah’s largest bird’s nest cave. After exploring the cave, return to Sandakan. Visit Puu Jih Shih, the hilltop Chinese Temple, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Explore St. Michael’s Church and the observation pavilion, Agnes Keith House, Central Market, and Sim-Sim Water Village, offering insights into local life and culture. Finally, transfer to Sandakan Airport (TBA hrs) or your hotel in Sandakan.

No Red/Bright Clothing, No Jewellery, and Do not carry food into the reserve.
Raincoat, hat/cap, insect repellent, sun lotion, drinking water, extra batteries for the camera, torchlight, leech socks (for jungle trekking), good walking shoes/sandals, and casual wear are recommended.

- All reservations must be completed before the departure date.
- No refund is available for cancellation after the tour has commenced or in respect of any accommodation ground transportation or any other services.
- If you wish to cancel your booking once it has been confirmed, a cancellation charge of 50% of tour fees will be imposed.
- Accommodation: A 100% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of the total accommodation cost is required to confirm the reservation of all types of accommodation i.e. Chalet, Hotel, or Resort. A fee will be imposed if any amendment, cancellation, or number of persons or rooms reduced is made after the booking is confirmed.
- Changing the date is only available for those tour packages which don’t include a chalet, hotel, or resort on Island once the booking has been confirmed.
- If the number of travelers is an odd number, a single supplement (adult or children) with an additional 70% charge of the adult price is applicable.
- Child Policy:
- The child rate is 70% of the adult rate.
- The child is an individual aged 2 to 10 years old (Proof of birth certificate is required).
- The child rate is applicable when traveling with TWO (2) paying Adults.
- We highly recommend all tour members purchase accident, baggage, and general liability insurance to protect their travel plans.
- The organizer has the sole and absolute discretion to cancel or shorten the duration of any tour in the event of force majeure, hostilities, accident, or other circumstances beyond the control of the organizer which render it necessary in the organizer’s reasonable opinion that such steps be taken. The organizer shall be relieved from all liabilities and obligations resulting therefrom. The organizer assumes no responsibility or liability for any injury, damage, loss, or accident with any services resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, strikes, government regulations, theft, failure of any means, discrepancies, or changes of which it has no control.
